Lara Celina Medalla

Lara Celina Medalla
Administrative Assistant

Lara graduated from the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant program at Algonquin College in 2017. She has been working in the Physiotherapy field for 5 years gaining experience on patient transfers, aiding the Physiotherapists with their treatment plan, building patient rapport, teaching exercises classes, training new staff on how to use modalities and eventually landing a position as an Exercise Assistant. While working as an Exercise Assistant, she obtained certification on measuring and fitting multiple kinds of braces for patients; i.e. knee braces, elbow braces, ankle braces etc as well as Compression Stockings. She gained interest in the administrative side of healthcare, so she decided to pursue it at the same time. Lara furthered her education, and gained a diploma in Business with a focus in Accounting in 2021. She then moved forward, and worked at a diagnostic imaging place, where she gained experience on how to do Payroll. While having an interest in healthcare, she now works full-time at Beechwood Physical Medicine as an Administrative Assistant. She works at a wonderful place where she can further her ‘people skills’ with the opportunity to showcase her experience she learned as a Physiotherapist Assistant.

Lara loves being around people, and making sure they leave with a smile on their face. She loves to make people laugh, and hopes to remove at least some of the stress the patients feel.

Lara’s interests are to go on long walks, trying new restaurants, travelling, dancing and especially singing. She believes that laughter is the best medicine.
