Physiatrist

Markus is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (MD ‘88).  Specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry ‘96) he was Chief of Rehabilitation at the Hull regional hospital and rehabilitation center from 1996-2008.  Since then he has devoted his career to the rehabilitation of injured CAF members. He is an expedition physician for TPL (True Patriot Love) foundation. As such he has assisted many Veterans and civilians in climbing mountains in the Himalayas and Antarctica as well as ski to the Magnetic North Pole. His main clinical interests lie in mind-body medicine, the influence of psychological trauma and moral injury on healing as well as ancient and novel approaches to mitigate human suffering.
