Paul Kernaghan, R.Kin
Kinesiologist

Paul Kernaghan is a Registered Kinesiologist and a veteran. He has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University, in which he focused on biomechanics, exercise physiology, and evolutionary biology. He also has a Masters degree from the Royal Military College of Canada, for which he wrote his thesis on the psychology and philosophy of ethical decision making for leaders. He recently retired from the military after 38 years in the Army and Special Operations. During this time, he learnt that he is truly passionate about human sciences, and that his greatest enjoyment came from seeing people succeed. These come together as his motivation to help others reach their activity needs and goals. Working in an integrated multidisciplinary environment at Beechwood Physical Medicine provides Paul and his clients incredible opportunities to restore movement and quality of life.

When not working as a kinesiologist, Paul pursues other health endeavours and passions. He is an advocate for brain health with the Concussion Legacy Foundation Canada, and he and his wife operate their gym, 613 Fitness, in Kanata. For recreation, he enjoys outdoor activities and seeks to provide others an opportunity for these experiences as an ORCKA canoe instructor. He plays several instruments to the best of his abilities, primarily as a guitarist, but somehow inadvertently became a harmonicist along the way.
