Gestion post-commotion cérébrale et réadaptation après un traumatisme crânien

We provide comprehensive, personalized care to support Canadian first responders, veterans, and active members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Our practitioners work collaboratively to address injuries, chronic pain, mental health concerns, and other complex health conditions through coordinated assessments, rehabilitation, and treatment.

Our specialized programs are designed to help veterans, active members, and first responders access the care, resources, and support they need.

Multidisplinary Assessments

Our multidisciplinary assessments (MDCs) bring together a team of specialists to evaluate complex and chronic physical and mental health concerns. Together, they develop coordinated recommendations and care plans for continued treatment and rehabilitation. Pre-and-post assessment, Veterans and CAF members are eligible for care coordination with our RN Case Manager pending pre-authorization. Medical referral required.

MDCs are led by our physiatrist, Dr. Markus Besemann, with assistance from Dr. Geoff Outerbridge and Dr. Stefan Eberspaecher.

Group Psychotherapy

Our group psychotherapy programs provide a supportive environment where veterans can address mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and connect with others who share similar experiences. Sessions are kept small to encourage meaningful participation and are led by our registered psychologists and psychotherapists.

Veterans must receive authorization from Medavie Blue Cross before participating in group psychotherapy sessions. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact our administrative team, who will help initiate the authorization process on your behalf.

Our group psychotherapy programs are facilitated by our psychologists and psychotherapists, with contributions from our acupuncturist, depending on the group subject matter.

VAC Forms

Our practitioners have extensive experience assisting veterans with medical questionnaires required for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) disability benefit applications and reassessments. These assessments provide the medical information and documentation needed to support pensionable claims.

Before booking an appointment, veterans must email their VAC request letter and questionnaire to info@bpmottawa.ca. The request letter will identify which type of healthcare practitioner is qualified to complete the form, allowing our team to review the requirements and schedule an appointment with the appropriate provider. VAC forms are submitted and billed directly to Veterans Affairs upon completion.
